Description
The Fr. Lasance New Roman Missal is a beautifully reproduced 1945 edition that serves as an indispensable resource for the Traditional Latin Mass, also known as the Tridentine Mass. Compiled by Rev. F.X. Lasance and Rev. Francis Augustine Walsh, O.S.B., and enhanced with a study plan, “Read Mass with the Priest,” by Very Rev. Msgr. William R. Kelly, Ph.D., this missal offers complete Latin and English texts for the Ordinary and Propers of the Mass, as well as votive Masses, nuptial ceremonies, and Masses for the Dead.
The 1,900-page missal features additional supplements, including:
- An explanation of the Ecclesiastical Year and sacred liturgy.
- Short accounts of feasts and lives of the saints.
- A glossary of liturgical terms and descriptions of symbolic representations.
- A rich collection of prayers, hymns, psalms, and indulgenced devotions, including the Way of the Cross, Mysteries of the Rosary, and litanies of the Sacred Heart, Holy Name of Jesus, Our Lady, and St. Joseph.
Designed for daily use, the missal is printed in two colors—black for the main text and red for rubrics (instructions)—to enhance readability and practicality. It features a durable sewn binding with black leatherette covers, gold lettering, rounded corners, gilt-edged pages, and six colored ribbon markers.
This reproduction remains true to the original, with no revisions except for additions made according to papal decrees from 1945 to the end of Pope Pius XII’s reign, including the Mass Propers and the Divine Praise of the Assumption.
Dimensions: 6.75” x 4.25” x 2.25” (17.1 cm x 10.8 cm x 5.7 cm).
Imprimaturs: 1936 and 1945.
Important Note: This missal is reprinted using the original typesetting from 1945. The text may appear slightly aged, with occasional imperfections in letters or numbers. These are not considered defects but are part of its authentic reproduction.
This timeless missal is an ideal gift for Latin Mass attendees, seminarians, religious, and anyone seeking to enrich their spiritual life through the sacred traditions of the Roman liturgy.
